The spare tyre carrier single action opening feature is a huge convenience for when you are trying to open the tailgate and the tyre carrier with one hand. When you have got an armload of gear or groceries in the other. Rather than latching to itself the tyre carrier is tethered to the tailgate so that they open and close in tandem. A custom design tie-rod assembly, Bumper mechanism, and the rear door keep the two pieces perfectly aligned when opened, but tight and rattle-free when closed.
